Rom 15:13; Phil 4:4-8

Joy comes from the presence of God because He is the source of hope. The joy of the Lord is your strength. This joy is not based on the circumstances that surround you but based on who is inside of you, the spirit of God.

Gal 5:22

It is the fruit of the spirit is joy. This is not a denial of sorrow, pain but it is the consciousness that comes from knowing who is in you and with you.

1 Thess 1:6

It is the joy of the Holy Spirit that makes you receive a message even though it is seemingly a difficult/challenging situation. Guard your joy, it is your responsibility to guard this joy. No one else should/can take this from you as long as you choose JOY. Be full of joy, rejoice!!

Joy is contagious, so is the void of joy. What are you sharing with others; joy or the void of joy?

God has given us joy. Enjoy it.

Psa 16:8-11

Joy is not the absence of grief, pain, sorrow, challenges but the presence of God that sustains the joy of the Lord within you.

John 10:10

Christ Jesus has come to give us life in abundance, likewise joy in abundance.

Joy is not an occasional thing but a constant intentional state of being joyful. Joy is not a feeling, it is a knowledge of who is with us, His Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the true source of joy. In joy, your perspective is tuned to God’s.

Am I a joyful person? What is stealing my joy?

Phil 3:13; Isa 43:18-19 Past experiences attempt to steal your joy. Don’t hold on to the past, move forward in joy. Forget past mistakes, you have been redeemed, set free, it is a new day because the mercies of God are new every morning. Move forward, don’t stay stuck in the past, enjoy today. Let go and let God. Appreciate what you are today by the grace of God.

Don’t allow the fear of the future to steal of the joy of today. Don’t be anxious about tomorrow, rest in God. God is with us and He will take care of your past, present, future.

Trials/grief/loss/pain comes to steal your joy.

James 1:2-4

Hold onto the source of joy because He is with you, He will never leave you. Difficult as it may appear, count it all joy.

Hab 3:17-18; Psa 126:5-6

There are seasons in life that you will plant in tears but there is a joy that comes in the morning. The presence of God assures us of a new season in Him.

2 Cor 10:12

Beware of comparison, this steals our joy. The moment you compare yourself with another, you begin to lose your joy and appreciation of what God has done in your life. People that compare are unwise (foolish). Don’t become like the people who say that there is no God. Don’t minimise who God has made you to be by comparing yourself with another.

Prov 3:5-6

Perspective can make one lose joy. Your perspective should always be based on the word of God. The Holy Spirit helps you to radiate the joy of the Lord as long as joy is rooted in your heart. See yourself as God sees you, God loves you and created you in His own image. You are a carrier of the temple of God, love yourself. Have the right perspective about who you are.

Anger can steal our joy. Be intentional with your joy, choose to be joyful, and not allow the root of anger to grow within.

John 15:9-11

Abide in the Lord, when you do this, you will be filled with the joy of the Lord and you will overflow with your joy. When you are rooted in the presence of God through His word, your heart will be flooded with His joy.

Psa 43:4; Rom 15:13

Be intentional, go to the altar of God, who is the source of joy, and let Him fill you.

Prov 17:22

A joyful heart is good medicine. Joy is good medicine to the body.

Jer 15:16

God has called you to be a joyful person, hold tight to your joy.

Rom 14:17

The Kingdom of God is righteousness, peace, and joy.

Zeph 3:17; Isa 55:12

God rejoices over you.

Phil 4:4-8

The joy of the Lord should radiate with you for all to see.

To remain joyful you must remain grateful. Gratitude is key. When you count your blessings, you lose sight of what you lack.
