A heart of Gratitude

1 Thess 5:18

Pruning always comes across like loss. When you bear fruit God prunes you so that you can bear much fruit. When you see a plant before it is pruned, it appears lush, full of fruits. After pruning, it appears bear however this is necessary for further growth.

Thanksgiving is a sign that you have been in God’s presence. God dwells in inapproachable light. When you dwell in God, things get clearer. With God there is no variableness or shadow of turning. When you dwell in God’s presence continuously, you always see clearly even when you are in the midst of challenges. When you come into God’s presence amidst your affliction, HE will always give you a glimpse of the future. Even though you are going through things, you would always be moved to thanksgiving.

Job 13:15; Psa 16:11 If you have been in the presence of God you would have joy. In His presence is fullness of joy. They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; you have to be willing to wait. While you are waiting, as long as you remain in Him, there will be fullness of joy.

Psa 100:4

Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, come into His courts with praise. For you to enter His gates, this means you were invited. Thanksgiving is an acknowledgement of the invitation. The fact that you have not seen God physically does not deny His majesty. You come into His courts with praise. Praise is a sign that you are conscious of God. If you do not raise up praise, then you are not conscious of the God who invited you, you have not observed His workings in your life and those around you. If you have truly seen God, you cannot but praise Him. You don’t praise God for what He has done but for who He is.

In everything give thanks, this is simply because you are more conscious of who is with you in the crisis, you are not alone regardless of the pain / disappointment.

Heb 13:5-6

You are always thinking of what you don’t have, rather always be content with what you have. God never leaves a man without. When you say you do not have, you would be blinded to that which you have. What you have is not in possession but in a person, God the Provider.

1 Tim 6:6 Godliness with contentment is great gain; this is not about what you have or your circumstance but who is with you.

James 1:17 God gives according to what He sees not what you want. What He sees is according to His perfect insight not your imperfect sight.

Matt 6:7-8 God does not give you what you want but what you need, so ask Him for what you need rather than what you want.

Delight yourself in the Lord and He will grant you the desires of your heart; this means you have gotten to a state of maturity where your desires have aligned to Him. You do not measure His gifts to you by where you are but by where He is taking you.

Prosperity is a state of your mind. A prosperous mind is a mind that flows with God per time. Seek to find out what God has built you for. Your mind-set should never be based on comparison with others. Your prayer should be to be empowered to position you to receive what God has built you for.

In everything give thanks, thank God for where you are. Be focused on who is with you.
